LGBT Books from UK Indie Publishers: Part 1 Fiction

Hello guys. Today I thought I'd have another delve back into the world of UK indie publishers and in particular fantastic LGBT books from them. Because there isn't much of a list on this and I don't always want to read a straight book! So I thought I with the help of my friends on twitter would get a good selection going on here for everyone to have a look at. On this list there should be something for everyone but if you have any more reccs feel free to place them in the comments below. This has been a real labout of love making this thing

As usual with this we are spoiled for choice bu we are going to go ahead. I've tried to pick a book for every mood which has proved to be near impossible but hey we can give it a go!

Love Dark Academia?

May I humbly suggest Lote by Shola Von Reinhold from Jacaranda Books. A fantastically twisted tale all about strange forms of art, cults, sparkling wines and identity.

Short for time?

Then try Box Hill by Adam Mars Jones from Fitzcarraldo Editions. that will stick with you  a long time.

Fantasy more your bag?

Well then what about Wise Phull by Daniel stride from Inspired Quill  A book that has made its way all to the way to the top of my TBR for the fact it has a bisexual necromancer as the lead! Which is so my jam it's almost ridiculous.

Maybe more Dystopian witha  hint of time travel?

Ooh very specific but I got you buddy! Tentacle by Rita Indiana from And Other Stories is a big fast book all about time travel, climate change, queer politics and sacred plants. Definitley one to watch for those who like their fiction wierd.

Fancy a fun romance?

Vicky Romeo Plus Joolz by Ely Percy from Knight Errant Press is here for you. A fun and dramamtic romance set in edinburgh centered around a Gay bar.

Fan of Gentleman Jack?

Then what about The Moss House by Clara Barley from Blue Moose Books. A novel all about Anne Lister and her partner and the sanctuary of The Moss House they loved together

More of a crime person?

Well I ahve one for you here with Clinch by Martin Holmen from Pushkin Vertigo. A dark noirish thriller with a bisexual protagonist.  Set in 1930's Stockholm this is definitley one to read in the winter months!

Fancy something in short bursts?

Well this short story anthology is for you. If I Had Wings by Helen Klonaris from Peepal Tree Press. A selection of stories about the pressures of LGBT people  in the Greek-Bahamian community. Exploring the facets of Religion, queer identity and belonging. These stories sound amazing and fascinating.

Want to pre-order?

TBR stacked ? why not do some planning ahead by pre-ordering The Green Indian Problem by JL Willets from Renard Press. The story of Green a little boy discovering his identity in a community where everyone thinks he's a girl. Defintiley one to look forward to!

Anyway I hope you enjoyed these! It's been a real labour of love and Part 2 will come out when it's ready!

Any other ideas please pop them in the comments and thanks again to everyone who helped!

Happy Reading and remember to always support your Indie Publishers
