Great Graphic Novels that are a Little bit Different

So I've been meaning to write this post for a little while but put it off until after Pride month so I could focus on LGBT+ content. Anyway these are a selection of four slightly different graphic novels and comics to change up your TBR.

So from the bottom of the stack

1.The Vintage Oddity
Return to Romance: The Strange Love Stories of Ogden Whitney
by Ogden Whitney edited by Dan Nadel and Frank Santaro

This collection of 1950's comics by Ogden Whitney are bizarre. They are conventional love stories gone slightly off. Every one has an odd set up, a cruel twist that some how always ends up in true love. It's odd and unsettling and somehow very loveable. This is a fantastic collection of truly oddball love stories.

2. The Informative Masterpiece
Camouflage: The Hidden Lives of Autistic Women
by Sarah Bargiela

This book was honestly an eye opener. I am autistic myself and seeing a graphic novel explain everything to me and seeing myself in this form meant so much to me. It's a gorgeous book, super informational and very affirming. Also the art is so unique!

3. The YA Adaptation
The Crossover
by Kwame Alexander

I read this in an hour. It's an incredibly illustrated, beautifully witten novel full of heartbreak and hope. It's impossible to put down and you feel the main characters every emotion. Its a work of absolute genius.

4. The Cosy and Easy Read
Baby
by Philippa Rice
This book is adorable and quirky as hell. The art is cute as a button and you can read it either very quickly or just from a reading a few pages a day. It's like a big hug in small book form. Totally worth a place on your bookshelf.
