5 Gay Books with Spooky Monsters!

As it was World Dracula Day this week I felt it would be awesome to give you recommendations for 5 awesome LGBT+ books with monsters in them. From Lovecraftian monstrosities to Vampires this selection has it all. Enjoy!
Starting from the top we have...

Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero
There is no book quite like Meddling Kids at all sometimes it in prose other times it lurches into script form for no reason. I can't even explain to you how excited I was to read this bad boy and when I got it and read it was just immense. It's a bonkers story full of lovecraftian horror, resurrection and a very cute sapphic romance. Also daring escapes from hospitals, decaying corpses and large dogs. It's the R Rated Scooby Doo book of your dreams!

Wranglestone by Darren Charlton
If you like books about isolated river towns surviving a zombie apocalypse then this is your book. It's scary and also surprisingly tender. Everyone wears checked shirts and everyone has an axe and thats just how it is. Theres also a creepy masked figure that takes zombie away and kills them finally for the town. It has a fantastic mystery at the heart of it.

The Deathless Girls by Kiren Millwood Hargrave

This si the book that started me writing this post. Have you ever wondered who the Brides of Dracula actually are? Well this book weaves a beautiful and blood soaked tale about the two sisters that would later become the Brides to histories most famous Vampire.

Widdershins by Jordan L Hawk

Now I have reviewed this one recently HERE. But I felt I had to mention it again because it is a big ol' masterpiece. It has some actually quite creepy parts, nasty monsters, brutal deaths and angst.
It's also a bit steamy do not give to kids!

Vixen by Rosie Garland

Talking of a bit steamy. This book is set during the black death in the medieval times and features a shapeshifting lesbian who ends up with a pissed off vicars wife. It's pretty brutal, bizarre and written beautifully. the monster is kinda the plague and people than the shapeshifter it counts ok. It almost feels like and ancient tale rather than a book just set in ancient times. If you love the poems of Christina Rosetti this is the book for you.

So there you are 5 books that are gay as hell and filled with monsters. I think you will love them.
Oh and usual if you buy these please buy them from an indie bookshop

If you have any reccs chuck 'em in the comments!
