I Still Have Love to Give by Emily A Myers: Review

Ah February the month of Love (and also LGBTQ+ History Month)! Well this month I have for you some poetry in the form of Emily A Myer's new collection " I Still Have Love to Give". This book was given to me as part of the blog tour hosted by InstaBookTours in exchange for an honest review.   So let's get going.

Quick Summary: "I Still Have Love to Give" is a collection of poetry following Emily's breakup and subsequent divorce and her looking for love afterwards. It comes with commentary from the author and a selection of exercises and guided reflections on the topics covered in the book.

This book really knocked me for six as it's filled with so many interesting and varied poems. Some of them didn't personally do it for me but with up to 50 poems in the book there really is something for everyone.

My personal favourite was the excellent "Book Boyfriend Vibes" a poem I think all us book nerds would enjoy. I had to take a screenshot of it I loved it so much.
Spending a day reading this book is like curling up on a couch and reminiscing with an old friend. I feel. Like I know Emily well now and that we'd get along swimmingly! Also I loved the commentary and guided reflections.

You get to know her pain and heartbreak as well as her hopefulness which makes you really empathise with her. Overall this is a fantastic collection of poetry which will get through February and beyond with a pep in your step!
