Breakup from Hell by Ana Davila Cardinal: A Review

It's my first review of 2023 and we are coming in hot with a supernatural YA with a whole lot of heart. A big thank you to Harper 360 YA for giving a proof in exchange for an honest review. Let's begin.

PLOT TIME: Migeula is a horror obsessed girl fed up with her small town life. When she meets Sam after church she falls instantly in love. However she starts getting seriously strong and strange things happen around her. She soon realises things aren't heaven sent at all but in fact the opposite!

If you love watching Supernatural or Lucifer this book is going to be for you. A horror comedy with a hint of romance and heck of a lot of hellfire Breakup from hell is a super fun, quick little read that you are going to want to revisit again and again.

Migeula is a fantastic character, a horror book obsessed nerd waiting to excape her tiny town life and her meddling Abuela and go to her dream college. She's fun and feisty and has a deadpan sense of humour that keeps you rooting for her as the story gets darker.

Sam is an unbelieable character in that he is too good to be true. A smooth talking charismatic villain who are you going to adore. Also the son of Satan loving horror books? Hell yeah 10/10

The book is peppered with quotes from revelation and is forsehadowing a reveal that I really should of seen coming and yet it was so subtly done that I didn't notice to the end! If you lvoed Supernatural's storyline of Lucifer regainign power and taking over Sam winchester and you also love Sawkill Girls then this book is going to keep you hooked to the end.

Everything in this book is just so fun and over the time and so enjoyable. It makes it all a delight to read. If you love your horror comedies fluffy, silly and totally bonkers then you are going to adore this book. Its really something special.
