The Amazing Edie Eckhart by Rosie Jones Review!

Sometimes a book comes along and you fall for it so much that you read it in under an hour. This book was one of those. Written by the amazing Rosie Jones The Amazing Edie Eckhart is about a girl with a physical disablitiy moving to secondary school and all the changes and differences that brings and as expected it's a delight!
Edie is an 11 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy about to move up to Secondary schhol she's excited as she'll get to stay with her best friend Oscar. However when he is moved to another form Edie is heartbroken and comes to realise maybe she can rely on herself rather than him.

I loved this book wholeheartedly it's probably the perfect back to school or summer read. A breezy super inclusive slice of kid lit with a heart and a lot of fun. By the end of the book you will really miss Edie and her friends and won't be able to wait for the sequel!

What I lvoed is how much of it I related to. I was the student classed as "special needs" and whilst mine wasn't pshyical like Edie I really related to her experience and how she felt. She seemed real and utterly believable and just like me and so many other children who are different to their peers at all.

Certain bits of it made you feel angry for Edie whilst other times you were rooting for her. It's so well written and I just loved it. I loved seeing disabled character actually get a date and be happy. Her friends and their families are also fantastic and feel so real. Every one is distinct and really well written.
Also no spoilers but there is some very cute LGBT+ content int here that made my little heart sing.

Overall this book is just excellent, fun, funny and so needed at the moment. It seems Kidlit has a real rise of amazingly talented authors brining in representation and fun adventures (LD Lapinski's Strangeworld, Maria Kuzniar's Ship of Shadows) and I'm super happy that Rosie Jones had joined this with Edie. Bring on the rest of the series!!!
