52 films by Women- Week 33
So this week we are going back to the very beginning and very short and sweet with the first ever film directed by a woman.
La Fee Aux Choux
and that film is....
Dir: Alice Guy Blanche
1896
This was the beginning of everything and is kinda really wierd but honestly a really awesome experience to watch. It's only one minute long but beat the Lumiere brothers in terms of it being the first narrative film as well! This film broke boundaries and that is so damn cool.
