52 Films by Women- Week 25

This week we are once again going for a first time director however this one you may have seen before!

Who could is possibly be?
A Tale of Love and Darkness
Dir: Natalie Portman
2016
Yes that Natalie Portman of V for Vendetta and Closer fame has headed back to her home country for her incredible directorial debut, an adaptation of a book of the same name. Portman paints a beautiful yet harrowing portrait of not just a snapshot of history but a family in chaos falling apart silently. Her portrayal of Amos's mother is amazing.  It has hints of magic as well as an amazing child actor in the lead role as Young Amos.
She is seriously one to watch and I cannot wait for her next movie as an actor director or both!
