52 FILMS BY WOMEN- Week 19
So this week we are going for a film by one of the most well known and revered female auteurs. One I admire and love completely and is a bit like the lady Wes Anderson guessed who is it yet?
The Virgin Suicides
It's.....
Dir: Sofia Coppola
1999
The Virgin Suicides rests on the same beautiful melancholy that Wes Anderson mined so well in The Grand Budapest Hotel. It's a gorgeously sad affair and something that makes me feel bad for waiting so long to finally see it. I think this may be one of my favourite of Coppola's films even beating Marie Antoinette.
Talking of can I just take a second to say how excited I am to see her newest work "The Beguiled". It just looks fantastic!!!
