52 films By Women Week 34- Swallows and Amazons

So this is the first film on this challenge I have had the joy of seeing on the big screen at the cinema.
It's...

Swallows and Amazons
Dir: Philippa Lowthorpe
2016
This is the summer movie you need to take your kids to. It's a whole lot of fun and home in time for tea sort of film that leaves a great big smile on your face. I grew up reading Ransome's Swallows and Amazon's books and seeing them on the big screen was a real joy.

One of the perks of this adaptation is a newly added spy section about Captain Flint (Rafe Spall) which is inspired and beautifully handled. Captain Flint was one of the best adult characters in it but all of them were beautifully writtern and well acted. special points go to Harry Enfield and Jessica Hynes as the owners of the Walker's holiday home. Andrew Scott as usual puts in a brilliant performance as someone who I don't want to spoil. All the children were amazing and the lessons learned in it are very relevant and brilliantly well done.
SWALLOWS AND AMAZONS FOREVER!
