Eating the Future with Crobar

A while ago I watched a youtube video by BuzzFeed all about taste testing food of the future. One of them in particular caught my eye, Cricket flour. Roasted crickets ground down in a powder to be used as a flour in things such as pancakes. So I jumped* at the idea when I was offered four bars from Christine Spliid from Crobar, two peanut flavour and two cacao.

Crowbar is a new type of energy/ cereal type bar using cricket flour for protein and are completely soy/ dairy and gluten free with no added sugar.I have to be honest, at first I may have balked at the idea of eating crickets. But then I thought "What Would Spock Do? Spock would eat them, Spock would find not eating them illogical. So trusting Spock (as one should) I took my first bite of the crowbar / the future.

The future tastes pretty nice. The first one I had a quick go at was the peanut. It was quite a big surprise as it wasn't a peanut butter or peanut flavour but actual peanuts. It was lovely tasted lovely and peanut-y, the texture is a lot nicer than i was thinking it would be. My little brother even liked it and he is a very very fussy eater.
The second one I tested was the cacao one. This one smelt pretty amazing and the taste certainly lived up to that. The texture is still a bit odd like the first one but this one seems a lot richer. I don't think i could eat a whole bar unless I was super hungry!

Overall if this is the future sign me up!! I can't wait maybe this time the future will come with pretty proper working hover boards too!

You can buy crobar at

* i was going to post this before christmas but I didn't want it to get lost in a sea of Blogmas posts!

Apparently Home Alone has decided after years of shoddy sequels for it's 25th anniversary (read more here) it's gonna start giving us gifts instead  first Macauley Culkin bringing Kevin back in all his creepy glory . Well now nasty and probably quite mentally scarred incompetent villain Marv is back with a plea for Harry. Because he too is scared as hell about what Kevin McAllister has become!
There really isn't much to say on this one so instead watch it!

Also Happy boxing Day. I promise I won't blog constantly we are back to normal schedule now!!

Blogmas: Weirdo Wednesday: Kevin McAllister

Kevin McAllister
Where is he from?:
Home Alone & Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
i like to pretend thats where the Home Alone franchise ended it's not true but it's nicer to think that way
and that Short I posted last friday here
Who plays him?
Macauley Culkin
oh clarification we and by that I mean me only accept Macauley Culkin as Kevin McAllister
not this one
wtf even was this sh*t
Why is he amazing?:
because he is an absolutely terrifying, incredibly resourceful child who beats the living bejeezus out of two burglars. Also basically becoming the personification of christmas. Also has his priorities in order and always eats a ton of food. he's a kid after all our hearts. until he grows up a bit weird, that short is still the best thing ever btw.

blogmas: Christmas whilst Dyspraxic

So guys I thought it would be nice to have a quick article of five easy tips to survive christmas when your dyspraxia/ your executive dysfunction is getting to you and you feel super overwhelmed.
1. when buying and wrapping presents do it in bits rather than all at once. When you have the energy wrap a few. Don't bother leaving it to the last minute it's way too stressful and it just sucks. wrap when you buy if possible. try doing a few a day. all mine are done currently i'm so proud!

2.Wear clothes that don't set off sensory things. you are around people more (i have family round) that tends to set off my sensory issues. so wear something comfy that you know won't irritate you.

3. you don't have to handwrite christmas card anymore! e-cards were invented for this guys don't worry about handwriting anything if you don't want to.

4. try and reserve yourself a space in the house to go if you feel overwhelmed. i prefer not to go in my room but into a different room because that makes me feel more motivated to come back to the christmas festivities but whatever works for you.

5.  if all goes wrong try this amazing self care interactive site its really helpful.

these are obviously just my thoughts but if you guys have any tips chuck 'em in the comments below

coming up: bloggers meetup post and I SAW STAR WARS!!

Got a clue who that is yet?
find out under the cut!

Blogmas: netflix and small children

So it's Christmas and that means Christmas holidays. That means children re at home. I have a little brother so it means I have to look after him. Which means one thing, THROW ON NETFLIX!!!
So here are 3 perfect films to chuck on that both you and kids will love that aren't just kids films!.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Arguably the one of the best in the franchise. It's fun, gripping and just all round brilliant. Don't miss the scene involving a break out in a Russian prison, it's perfect. Brad Bird is such a talent.

Super 8
perfect movie. JJ Abrams does a great job good to watch pre- Star Wars!!!!!

The Young and Prodigious T.S Spivet
A perfectly quirky family film. One not to miss

So there you are. I just filled your baby sitting time! you are more than welcome!!!

Victor Frankenstein: It's most certainly alive!

This film is going to become something, maybe just a strange curio but its a very very good fun one. Basically I have a new favourite. Think of it as the Hansel and Gretel:Witch Hunters of Frankenstein movies with just a little of Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" movies thrown in.
A little warning and a spoiler warning before we delve in first SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT and secondly this may be a 12a but don't take your tiny children in. If anything it should be a 15 and I don't want any mentally scarred children to come out of this silly steampunk-y tour de force!

#Blogmas :An Interview with blogger and writer Sincerely Oghosa

So I will confess readers, I have been waiting to post this for a little while and have kept it super secret. Way back at the beginning of Blogmas I spotted a tweet on @fashbeautylife looking for people to read and review blogger Sincerely Oghosa’s book “Sent from Heaven”. I will admit I was intrigued and thought I’d go for it then I thought how much fun it would be to try and catch a few minutes with her for an interview. She replied to my email and the rest, well the rest is right here. Guys, I proudly present an interview with the lovely Oghosa Ovienrioba.
1.  Tell me a bit about yourself!
My name is Oghosa Ovienrioba! I'm a youtuber and blogger. I love love love making videos, especially comedy ones! My channel is called Sincerelyoghosa and this year it got to 1.6 million views and that was the best feeling ever!

2. So what's your book about?
The book is about a woman called Chioma Da Silva, she's a single mum who died of Breast Cancer. Unfortunately she ended up in hell by mistake and the book follows her journey into heaven and then, back to  earth to see if she can give her son a happy ending before it's too late.

3.What inspired you to write "Sent from heaven"?
A lot of things, I'm fascinated with fantasy and I've always wondered what it would be like to have a guardian angel protecting and guiding you. Things like that fascinate me, as well as how the heart deals with death and how we learn to cope with losing loved ones.

4. Who are your favorite writers?
Meg Cabot, Jane Austen, Sophie Kinsella are just a few I can think of.

5. If you could work with one person dead or alive, famous to not who would it be and what would you do?
Erm oh gosh. I think Shakespeare, he was a visionary. I'd love to work on a modern, epic scale version of a midsummer nights dream.

and finally the most important question of all

6.Could your work be improved with the addition of dinosaurs?

Lool! Probably !

So there you have it folks! It certainly looks pretty great and she was so lovely! Now here is the book cover and the links for you!
To purchase "Sent From Heaven" please click here
To visit Oghosa's youtube channel please click here

I'll see you back tomorrow for more Blogmas cheer!!!
